Mate menu search bar ??
One of the things really want from a DE is a menu search bar for the apps menu. I get this with xfce (whiskers) and I like xfce a lot, but I often find e.g. power management and system monitoring (end other things) annoying. I usually use Cinnamon which is in many was very good. But, I would like to keep things simple and just go with trisquel's build in Mate DE. But there is no menu search bar.
Now, looking at Linux Mint's Mate edition, there _is_ a menu search bar.
Why isn't there a such in trisquel's Mate DE?
Can it be installed on top?

You need to add the "Advanced MATE menu" to your panel.
That sounds easy.

I don't use it, I just found it. I searched and found that mate-menu was a fork of mint-menu, and then I thought maybe it is some applet already in MATE, so I looked which applet I can add, I tried this one and it really looks like this, so maybe this is the fork of mintmenu.
Got it., It is simply an applet, which you can add to the panel - just as you wrote. And it is very easy.
